STDC Organizes Educational City Tour for EIC Students to Promote Karachi’s Heritage and Tourism

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, the Sindh Tourism Development Corporation (STDC), Culture and Tourism Department, Government of Sindh, organized an educational city tour for students and teachers of the Educational Institute Charity (EIC), Karachi, on September 5, 2026. More than 50 students and teachers participated in the tour, which was aimed at providing young learners with an opportunity to explore and understand the rich history, cultural heritage, monuments and tourism attractions of Karachi.

During the tour, the participants visited important historical monuments and museums in the city, including Mohatta Palace Museum, Quaid e Azama House Museum, National Museum and Mazar e Quaid where they were introduced to Karachi’s diverse heritage, historical development and cultural significance. The visit provided students with an opportunity to learn beyond the classroom and gain a firsthand understanding of the city’s historical and architectural treasures.

The initiative reflects STDC’s commitment to promoting heritage education, cultural awareness and responsible tourism among young people. By connecting students with historical sites and museums, such activities help create a greater appreciation for the preservation and promotion of Sindh’s rich cultural heritage.
Sister Dagmar and Sister Dietlinde from Germany operates the Karachi office of the Educational Institute Charity (EIC) in Pakistan. They run family-style orphanages in Karachi, including House Hanna, House Tabitha, and House Samuel, which collectively house and care for around 100 children from low-income or distressed backgrounds.
The students and teachers expressed their appreciation for the initiative and thanked the Sindh Tourism Development Corporation and the Culture and Tourism Department, Government of Sindh, for providing them with an informative and educational experience.

STDC reaffirmed that such CSR and educational tourism initiatives will continue to be encouraged to engage students and communities in discovering Sindh’s rich history, culture and tourism potential.
